September

Our September was filled with enjoying being outside.  The weather cooled off so the kids and I have been out in the stroller going for walks, bike rides, and roller-blading.  Lizzie has loved riding her bike without training wheels, even with several crashes.  Let's just say the tires on the cheap bike don't grip the road as well as good old rubber tires.  I thought I might have to force her back on her bike, but no she absolutely loves it.  She rides it to preschool while I roller-blade with the jogging stroller and the boys. She goes way to fast for my slow jog. :) The roller-blades definitely help me keep up with her.  Lizzie tends to be a bit more sassy on preschool days, but I think that's because she's trying to be good at school so she has a hard time controlling her emotions once she gets home.  That's my theory anyway.  She has loved trying soccer for the first time.  She mostly chases everyone else and is always excited for the next game.  Of course she's the smallest one on the team so her uniform just hangs off her.  She's also been having fun being back in dance.  I love how easy going she is.  I think she would find something positive in everything we did with her.  It amazes me when things don't go the way she was hoping she'll just say something like "It's ok, maybe tomorrow I could ride my bike".  I can't believe she's getting so big! Daniel of course has been dragged around to all of these things. He hates that he can't get out there and play soccer with them. He's obsessed with chocolate milk although we've taken all sippy cups away so he'll probably be drinking a little bit less now.  Finally books have become his new favorite thing to do! He loves to sit with the Tag Jr. and "read" the books that go with it.  He also loves all the beginner books like: Go Dog Go, Fox in Socks, Stinky Face, Brown Bear Brown Bear, and One Fish Two Fish.   The best part is Lizzie memorizes the books so she will sit and read to him.  She's got Go Dog Go down.  Fox in Socks is hilarious because a lot of the words are just made up "Seuss" words so this is what it sounded like when I overheard her reading to Daniel.  "Fox in socks in box in mox in tox..." and so on. :) At least it helped her get the rhyming thing down, right? They've both been doing an art class at a school in Springville every Monday. It's great because they get to do three different activities and I do none of the cleanup or preparing. That's my kind of art! Plus it's different each week so they really get to try a variety of methods.  Plus it gives me some simple ideas I can do at home. Logan's getting better now that he started some solid foods and he's got a more regular schedule.  He still screams often, but it's better and that's all I can ask for.  Luckily he's cute enough I can handle it. We celebrated Spencer's birthday with fondue and tres leches.  Oh my, that is my new favorite recipe! It tastes exactly like Cafe Rio's.  I wanted to do something special for his 30th so we had some of his siblings, Jen, Brandon, and Britton over for dinner and of course video games. My family came over for some of the cake when we brought that out.  We watched Avengers, ate yummy food, and relaxed.  I gave Spencer some options of something more special I wanted to do and out of all the choices he just wanted to go on a date with me! Now this probably doesn't sound that surprising, but you've got to understand I was including several other super fun things like going mountain biking with my brother, set up a whole dart game war with his siblings, have a game day with his family, etc.  So I am planning a super awesome date for our next available Saturday! That post will come later cause I've got a few surprises for him.  Now we're all looking forward to Halloween.  Lizzie chose a Plants vs. Zombies theme so our costumes will all be things from that.  Plus we'll set up a game of it on our front lawn. Can't wait!
