Easter 2011

We had a great Easter this year.  The week before Easter we had my niece and nephew staying with us.  My nephew's diabetic so we had an interesting week with Daniel and him.  We have to check his blood sugar during the night, which is why they stayed with us.  After all, we're usually up with Daniel anyway.  The funny thing is I think Daniel was the only one who slept well all week.  We found out on the second night that my nephew sleepwalks.  Let's just say we were awfully confused when he came to our bathroom and then went in Daniel's room to stare at the closet. :) Anywho, we had fun dying Easter eggs with cousins and doing a hunt while everyone was here.  Lizzie loved having her cousins stay with us.  Upon waking up she'd immediately ask where they were and if she could wake them up.  Plus they brought Barbies that had been outgrown.  Lizzie and Daniel love playing with them.  Ok Daniel likes eating them, but Lizzie claims he loves playing with them.  Lately she's sure she knows exactly what Daniel wants and needs.  Wow I'm really on some tangents today.  Better get to the pics!  Here's egg dying:
The cute little munchkins in their new Easter clothes (only $10 each!).
Here's a few pictures of Lizzie hunting for eggs.

All the cousins together on my side of the family.  This doesn't happen often so we had to snag a picture.  With this many kids of different ages it's near impossible to get them all smiling and looking at the camera.
I'm so proud of these baskets!  My mom made our Easter baskets and I've always loved having something she made for me.  The orange one is mine so it's the one my mom made years ago.  The blue one is Spence's, the first one I made.  Then Lizzie's is the tie-dye one and Daniel's is the plaid looking one on the right.  They weren't too bad.  It took time to sew them, but hey if I can do it then anyone can.  I definitely learned some things.  The next one will be even better now.  Still, even with my mistakes I think they turned out pretty cool.
A picture of our baskets.  Lizzie loved her Just Dance for Kids.  Ok let's be honest, Spence and I loved it too.  I like doing things that are connected to the Savior to remind us what Easter is really about.  Next year I'm planning on having the Easter Bunny come on Saturday so Sunday is all about the Savior.  Also, I heard about this great book, A Christ Centered Easter, I'm going to use a lot of ideas from that too.
Spence and the kids enjoying their new baskets I made.  Can you tell how excited I was to finish these?  I seriously wanted to take so many pictures.  I don't accomplish much with sewing so I'm super proud of myself with these cuties!  We enjoyed a quiet Easter morning at home with candy and watching The Lamb of God although I didn't care too much for Lizzie stealing all the peanut-butter cups.  Apparently they're her favorite as well.
After the egg hunt downstairs (since it was raining AGAIN), Daniel ate the eggs while Lizzie found them.  So fun to just be together as a family on such a special day.
